Khaptad Trip

Khaptad National Park as it is one of the well known site for the tourists and residents of the far western region of the country. This is the national park, which is located in the high hills of far western region that covers an area of 225 sq. km. It challenges all trekkers and nature hikers with rewarding experience unlike any other protected area in Nepal, because of its remoteness the area has been kept untouched by the tourist. It is very famous for its religious vale as well as its natural beauty. Late Khaptad Baba lived here for 50 years, meditating and worshiping and became a renowned spiritual saint. Besides its religious importance the park is rich for its natural beauty from where you can see the Api and Saipal Himalayan ranges.

I had a chance to visit this site on 2065-2-27, there is a huge Mela called Dash-hara Mela where lots of the tourists, nepalese, residents from Doti, Accham, Bajura and Baitadi comes to celebrate the mela. They showed their traditional dances over there for whole night and take a holy bath on Tribeni River.

I with Krishna Jee went there for showing some agrodiversities including different crop varieties. First day we stayed at Nagarpalika's Guest house in Silgadi, Doti. Then we walked for Khaptad with curiosity and hardcore interest to see the Khaptad. We were possible to reach Jhigrana on the second day, where there is only two small hotels. Any way we adjusted there.
