The film “Rock on” is nice to watch. There is no any boring scene throughout the period. The director focused the story focusing the youngsters who loved the music and they are eager to perform on stage and want to release their album. We can find similar cases in Nepal as well. Most of the youngsters are busy with guitars and other musical instruments and formed bands. I hope there are bands in each ward/tole in the urban areas. Mostly they are busy in these professions at the time of their college life only. After passing out from the colleges, most of them sidetracked from this profession and they become busy in other businesses. Many bands formed and dissolved after some times in musical arena. Some exists and some not.
There may be different causes behind diverting the professions. Some may be due to misunderstanding or egoism between band members; lack of professionalism in the field; can not survive in competitive field; personal causes, unluckiness etc etc. One of the cause can be seen in the film is personal ego between two band members (Aditya and Joe), which damages the lives of all band members.
At the end, they got success in performing their musical magic and all the band members except Rob live happy lives. Happy ending can be seen as in all Hindi movies.
The concept of the film is really interesting and motivating that attracts large mass of youngsters in all around the world. In recent years, Indian Film Industry prepared good films like Dil Chahta Hai, Tare Jamin Par, Bhulbhulaiya, Rock On etc. These films focused some social issues in the film. Likewise, Rock On focused issue of the youths in this film. I was really impressed with the direction and flow of the story in this film.
Some of the morals in the film are:
Live in your dreams – All the band members of Magic (Aditya, Joe, Rob and Keddy) have their dreams to rock on the music. They got success at the end and lived their lives with their dreams. Dreams come true with enthusiasm, regular struggle in life and chasing the dreams.
No Age Bar to achieve dreams - There is no age bar to make your dreams come true. After ten years of dissolving band ‘Magic’, they achieved their dreams.
Egoism is bad for all. – As ego is opposite of love, It hinders oneself life including others too. The break up of the Magic is due to ego and misunderstanding between two band members, Aditya and Joe, which hampered the life of Rob and Keddy too.
The person failed in one field, can get success in other field, only dedication is necessary. – After break up of band, Aditya got success in banking. We can see his hard working, devotion, dedication in the film, which make possible to achieve in banking field. So, we need dedication, hard working in order to achieve success in life.
g/ / gf/L /ysf b'O{ kf+u|f x'g\ - we can learn this moral too in this film. Sakshi (Aditya’s wife) worked hard to make their life joyful. She wants happy and cheerful life with his lovely husband she got it. On the other hand, Devvie (Joe’s wife)’s sacrifice is also important in order to understand this moral. She also had tough life to adopt fishing business and always thinking about Joe’s professional life.
Female dominated life at the time of not being employed – Joe’s life in the film is somehow female dominated, as he has no job. Devvie is busy in searching job for Joe. Even at the time of live concert, she is forcing to join the job for him.
There are lots of things, which make the film more interesting and interactive. I hope all the youths and youngsters having interest on music and not interested guys will see the movie get fully entertained with some morals of life, which is necessary for successful life.
